Our Mission

We at Ahujasons are committed to nurturing the heritage craft of shawl-making and supporting the community of weavers-craftsmen engaged in this trade. Our success depends on the quality, beauty and exclusivity of our products – attained through all-round excellence and unique expertise of our people. As we expand and attain the strategic goal of leading the industry from the front, Ahujasons constantly endeavours to enhance aesthetic experience and earn employee loyalty through a long-term and mutually beneficial association. Our ethical industry practices, employee-first policies and great work environment ensure great-value benefits for all our employees and associates.

At Ahujasons, shawls are not mere haute couture products but personal style statements endorsed by connoisseurs of lifestyle over the centuries. Greatly valued as beautiful pieces of personal adornment, Indian shawls had graced the likes of Akbar the Great, Sultan Zain-ul-Abdin of Kashmir, Maharaja Ranjit Singh & Napoleon Bonaparte and won millions of hearts for their warmth and softness. The modern-day collections of pashmina and other hand-crafted shawls from Ahujasons bring to life the rich heritage of Indian weavers, the master craftsmanship of the traditional Kashmiri Gharana (trend) and the flair of the exotic Orient – so that our valued patrons across the globe are bequeathed with most exclusive collectors’ items.

From the traditional paisley and floral motifs to the contemporary and the futuristic – Ahujasons offers intricate designs and exquisite embellishments fondly cherished as treasured heirlooms. Our weaves are available in a variety of sizes – from full-length shawls to scarves & mufflers, stoles, throws and decorative items. We use only premium yarns – pure wool, gossamer silk and sheer natural fibres besides the most divine cashmere/pashmina harvested from the fine undercoat of Capra Hircus Laniger, a breed of goats found in the high altitudes of the Himalayan ranges and the Sub-Siberian latitudes.

Be it the centre piece of an alluring bridal trousseau or a stylish scarf/muffler flaunting Western chic, an ethereal evening wrap or a stunning party wear – Ahujasons presents a dazzling canvas of exclusive creations celebrated in pure pashmina and blends. Soft and supple, each design from Ahujasons is a custom creation that comes with a sheen and texture rarely found. Soft mellow colours & bright jewel tones, feather light feel & snug comfort, trend-setting varieties & rich surface adornments make these designer weaves unique fashion accessories and bring to your ensemble the perfect touch of sophistication and refinement. Our highly ornamental Jamawar weaves are graced with most exquisite hand-embroidery, intricate stone & bead work, sequinned splendour, zardosi borders and fancy fur trimmings. Equally enchanting is the use of traditional crafts like kalamkari, appliqué and ari work – all transposed on the haute couture wraps.

Journey to the Zenith

An organisation keen to preserve and promote the handcrafted shawl industry and especially the much-lauded pashmina wear, Ahujasons has taken up the cause of weavers-craftsmen in real earnest – training practising craftsmen, upgrading pre-loom & post-loom operations and ensuring a steady production flow in spite of the unrest in Kashmir and Punjab for a whole decade. Kulbhushan’s stint with the International Wool Secretariat (IWS) and his extensive experience in the retail sector also helped establish meaningful quality hallmarks and widened the marketing base. The all-out initiative to revive and nurture shawl-making paid rich dividends and the once-languishing craft facing tough competition from mass production has found a loyal and ever-increasing client following both at home and abroad.

With the domestic market witnessing a significant rise in demand, Ahujasons opted for wholesale distribution in 1985 in line with major market requirements and ensuring great value for money. The exports division was started in 1997 and a decade’s experience of catering to designer houses, boutique markets, departmental stores and high net worth individuals has enabled the company to carve a niche global market. Subsequently, Ahujasons has won the pride of place as the largest Indian manufacturer, distributor and exporter of designer shawls – operating a 200-strong dealer network in more than 35 countries and across continents. The domestic market has also kept pace in growth as we work with 600 dealers all over India and a hundred in Delhi alone in a bid to expand our reach-out through effective brand positioning and marketing initiatives. The company has further plans to expand its retail base in the Capital City of New Delhi and add more outlets to its exclusive showrooms at Karol Bagh and South Ex (Part II).

Eye on Environment

At Ahujasons, we foster environment-friendly policies and believe in fashion without cruelty. The cashmere/pashmina wool is harvested from goats during their annual molting season when the animals begin to lose the protective layer of down. The raw fibre is gathered through the shedding or the shearing of their down and no animal is harmed in the process. Pashmina/cashmere has no connection with the internationally banned shahtoosh which is procured from the endangered Tibetan antelope Chiru (Pantholops Hodgsonii). It is totally legal & safe to possess pashmina/cashmere products and enjoy their timeless beauty & elegance.
